Yeah, Weird Title. But You Know Why I Chose It.
If you don’t, let me clue you in. But first—by now you’ve noticed my blog got a bit of a facelift. Like it? No? Let me know! Seriously. Hit that contact page. If enough of you holler, I might just switch it again.
Second Verse, (Definitely) Different from the First
The “new look” I introduced last time had some bugs my WordPress skills couldn’t wrangle. So… I changed it again today. Am I thrilled with it? Not really. But it works. For now.
Hoping for an Agent
With a messy mix of hope and trepidation, I submitted an unfinished manuscript to a literary agent about a month ago. Have I heard back? Nope. But honestly, trepidation and I are old friends by now. Not our first dance—and certainly not our last.
About That Title…
I’m exhausted by the noise—the political circus dominating what used to be a great nation. The nonsense running rampant through my state? Brought to you by the usual suspects. If you’re like me, maybe you’ve tuned out the chaos and focused on positive things that matter.
That’s why a site makeover. A small gesture of sanity. A reminder to myself—and anyone listening—that change is still possible.
I even took a vacation. Spent a week with family. Road-tripped with my wife. And yes—it helped me avoid thinking about the conman threatening everything so many of us love about this country. Some people chase money and power. I prefer progress.
I’m Not Going Crazy… But I’d Consider It
Now, back to my writing. I wanted to restart work on my book today, but I fixed site bugs on jacaboartwork.com and jamesoyoungcliff.com. Friends and family pointed out some obvious stuff I couldn’t ignore.
And it’s that overwhelming get-it-done-now feeling that drives me up the wall. Writing should be at the top of the list. But it’s not. (Not going there today.)
Oh—and let’s talk about keyboards. I’m on my fourth. Yes, fourth. I adored my old Logitech keyboard—classic typewriter vibe—but certain keys started dimming and blinking like a haunted Ouija board. Total distraction.
My son kindly gifted me a Dell keyboard. Sweet gesture, but yeah… back in the box it goes. I need a new one. Not some overpriced Qwerkywriter gimmick—just a solid mechanical board with a satisfying click that doesn’t fall apart.
Got a recommendation? Send it my way. Seriously.
That’s It for Now
Let me wish the United States and the folks who love it and want to preserve its Constitution and freedoms for all, a happy Fourth of July! Live free, and stay free!
